HELLO!: Tell us about your journey that led you to become Marble, Granite and Natural Stone manufacturers, suppliers, Exporters, importers in India 🇮🇳?
D.C. BHANDARI: I was always extremely fond of Natural stone. Initially, I was into stone design, processing, marble product and wanted to send abroad to expert design. But in the midst of that, I got the opportunity to do an import of Statuario marble project, and that’s how my journey in export and import of Marble, Granite and Natural Stone began. I was very young at the time, and because my family was into stone business since many centuries, I was able to design a few Imported Statuario marble. One thing led to another, giving me a lot of opportunities in this field. Although It's our family business but I want to take this business International level and according to such standards, my experiences and journey in the industry taught me a lot. That’s how I grew and established Bhandari Marble Group India.

What are the latest developments in terms of design and innovation in your products?
Today, Italian marble are breaking aesthetic barriers in both design and function. With its appearance of marble, granite and natural stone and characteristics that overcome its no limitations, Natural stone are being widely preferred in many residential and commercial projects. This new age stone variety offers consistency in colors and patterns and is basically inspired by the beauty found in marble, granite and stone. The Infinity luxurious Imported Marble which is Bhandari marble group’s flagship brand for Imported stones, marble and granite offers the widest choice of over many hundred varieties in both marble and granite. Its latest launch in the marble collection has Statuario marble as its characteristic differentiator from the rest and is expected to be the next big trendsetter in the industry. Released in the market under the titles – Bianco Carrara, Bianco Venatino and Statuario, this collection of Italian marble has a striking the classic white Italian marble that carries similar veined patterns and is in much demand.
Do you observe changes in application especially related to functionality?
The concept of home, villa, hotel and project surface covering is widening day by day. In the past, the Indian marble were considered as part of functionality only and flooring was the key function. The surface covering has moved beyond flooring. In present times, it’s not just functionality but they add Italian marble style and glamour to space. In most residential and commercial projects, the Italian marble application is a key part of designing and decoration. Its application areas have extended to the various interior and exterior spaces such as Landscaping, Countertops, architectural carving, statues, furniture, tabletops, treads, bathrooms, kitchens, cafeterias, and entry-ways, living areas, bedrooms, lobbies, and many more. Italian marble as a most luxurious and prestigious stone is mainly used for flooring, elevation, decoration, countertops, architectural carving, statues, bathroom and kitchen countertops and also in vanity tops and worktops. Italian marble outrides every single function of natural stone; be it about creating wall highlighters, engraved marble walls, marble floorings, wall claddings or even just framings.
What are the current trends and what trends will emerge in the future?
The concept of Italian marble is very popular and is an established product in the India and overseas market. However, it’s still an emerging segment in India and architects and decorators have begun exploring the newer design possibilities with the introduction of these Italian stones. Architects and designers are big influencers and determine the course and success of a product. Simultaneously, today’s consumer is equally equipped to identify the best that is available in the market and the prevailing trends while keeping the luxury in mind. The market for Italian marble is gathering good momentum and is expected to grow exponentially in the coming years. Presently, The Infinity luxurious Imported Marble is being consciously offered exclusively through company-owned showrooms and dealers so that not only would we impart full knowledge on the subject while selling the products but also we would be in a better position to take perfect care of ‘after-sales service’ which is the key to success in our business practices. This is a strategic decision made by the company and we are positive that the Italian marble market will create a new benchmark in the Indian marble industry by 2022.
What is the volume of your import and exports?
Bhandari Marble group is the one of the largest exporter of Indian stone with a maximum market share in the segment. The products are exported to over 60 countries across 6 continents.
Is it possible for India to become one of the primary exporters in the future?
Bhandari Marble Group stone are green products, made out of Mother Nature. The products are of international standard, made from Indian and imported material, and processed using the latest and most advanced technology. We face extremely stiff competition from neighboring Asian countries like China, Taiwan, Korea, and other developing countries even after having the expertise to produce the best quality stone products. So, it is not that the products are not marketable in foreign countries but it is about the non-conducive export policies that make the business tough for us. Some export incentives if received from the Government will play a vital role in improving the export market scenario for the marble, granite and stone industry.
Are there any barriers pricing from countries like Italy, Turkey China and Korea due to which we lose ground. To be competitive in the global market we request some export incentive from the India Government in Natural stone field which will increase our export share in the global market. The marble, granite and stone industry requires assistance from the Government by giving us a MEIS incentive @5% on exports of marble, granite and stone. If this benefit is given we are hopeful that India’s share in the global market would increase substantially.
How is this industry incorporating the Make in India programme in its projects?
Bhandari Marble Group India products are manufactured at our state of the art plant in Kishangarh with Indian and imported raw material and are exported to over many years across the world🌎. The Indian stone product is creating Indian footprints in the global market and is a part of the Make in India program. Bhandari Marble Group India is a green product that is sustainable, hygienic, and available in over many colors and patterns. Our factory is certified by India government and is in compliance with standards accepted globally International.
how did you get your idea or concept for the import and export stone business?
It's a family business the elder generation started of with indian range of marble in 1631 and Italian marble 1969 as we entered we took it to next level that's globally importing and exporting material all around the Globe.
what are the various services provided by your company?
We are one of the oldest and biggest exporter and importer of marble, granite and stone material majorly into white colour base we have our manufacturing, processing, unit at kishangarh asia largest market there we process the raw material into finished goods and then dispatch them to various states of India and overseas.
